MINUTES OF THE DIVIDE TRAIL PATROL MEETING

 

MINUTES OF THE DIVIDE TRAIL PATROL MEETING ON JULY 10, 2008

The meeting was called to order by Trina Romo at 7:10 P.M.   The following members were present:  Terrie Hohn, Gail Zeigler, John Vieira-McEldowney, Julie Andert, Trina Romo, Joanne Thornton, Sharon Campbell, Heather Swanson and Pam Greer.

The following issues were discussed:

  1. Ride sheets should continue to be submitted to Gail either by email or snail mail.
  2. Terri mentioned that the parking area at Cronan Pedro Hill is still suffering from cars parking in the wrong places. 
  3. Discussion ensued about what to do – new signs, new striping, new sign placement, repositioning of old sign.
  4. A suggestion was made to ask DHA to pay for a new sign, then approach BLM with the request to put it in at no cost to them.  Of course, they would have to approve the signage, wording, etc.. 
  5. It was also suggested that DHA pay for the striping machine rental, and any other equipment needed for new striping at the parking lot.
  6. Joanne mentioned that her neighborhood acquired a metal sign for about $70.
  7. Julie suggested that we do the painting/striping FIRST, and if that does not help, we would then add additional parking signs and/or re-position the old parking signs. Everyone approved.
  8. It was also suggested to add ONE NEW sign saying something about directing ‘overflow’ parking to the Magnolia Staging area.  Everyone approved.
  9. Gail agreed to ask BLM  if we could have a trail work party to do the striping and add the new sign.
  10. Pam agreed to put the request for the money on the DHA board agenda for the July meeting.
  11. It was unanimously decided to continue printing the DTP brochures for Cronan and that Trina would distribute the brochures to the boxes and to any members who want to help put them in the boxes.
  12. John agreed to monitor the GMAIL DTP email site.  He said he would respond to inquiries.
  13. If anyone attends the cow round up on Friday , July 11, he or she can get Work Party Credit for helping Jason and the BLM get the cows off Cronan.
  14. The next QUALIFYING ride has been scheduled for Friday, August 8 @ 9:00 A.M.
  15. The BLM patches that DTP members wear on their vests shall be also issued to the CCC.  Gail will contact John about making that happen.
  16. Pam will check with Paula Anderson and ask if she wants to continue doing the patches and the vests for DTP.
  17. The next meeting of the DTP will be at Julie Andert’s house on October 9.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 P.M.
