Thank you all who came to our April General Meeting -- it was a huge success. Our guest speakers (Saddle Fitters and Shelley Janek from El Dorado County) were very informative and provided us with a lot of information. Thank you to Heather and Mowgli for being our demonstrators. We are trying to schedule speakers and educators for future meetings that will benefit us all. If you have any ideas or suggestions please contact any board member and we will help coordinate your suggestions into our meetings. We have already lined up Tracey Brown for our June meeting; she will discuss barefoot trims, barefoot horses, boots, and barefoot lifestyle. I have a great board of directors that work very hard to keep our club up and running and providing you with the all the benefits we have to offer. We are diligently working on a plan for more improvements out at Cronan and Magnolia Ranch. We love all of your individual input for areas of improvement to make everyone’s recreational experience better. Our Trail Patrol group is working to keep everyone informed of the rules and regulations that must be followed not only for safety but for the preservation of our trail system. We are always in need of more people willing to help us out in those areas. As you know all the hard work and improvements to these parks are done by countless hours put in by our club volunteers and are made possible by our fundraisers. Unfortunately we are not going to be able to do the Wine Booth at the Fair this June, so we are looking for ideas/events to replace this money maker for the club. If you have a brilliant idea and would like to help implement it please contact one of the board members today so we can get to work on it. We have a wide variety of members from all over the place and who have been members of other clubs in other counties. If you have participated in a fun event that was a fundraiser let us know. We are open to new ideas. On the subject of fun…Remember the club will be going to Jack Brooks Park May 30-June 1st. The cost for the catered ride is $150.00 per person. We have a few spots still open so please contact me and let me know if you would like to go. For those of you already signed up please get your balances in right away. It is going to be a great new adventure for the club. Some place new with supposedly a great camping facility and tons of trails. The weather should be perfect. Speaking of weather, we have gone from winter to spring to summer back to spring conditions. I have heard about a lot of horses having colic issues. Please remember to monitor your horses water intake, don’t leave them sweltering with blankets on and don’t forget the mineral blocks. And for you -- don’t forget your fluids, Sun block and Bug block. Speaking from experience-- the sun and the bugs can sneak up on you especially this time of year! See you all May 21st at 6:30 for our General Meeting and Potluck -Bring a dish to share and a friend! Take care and ride safe! Julie
